Green / Renewable Energy
Why is changing to a green electricity tariff important?
It’s a question of consumer power. The more households who demand
renewable energy the more will be invested in it. But don’t be tricked into a
tariff that doesn’t actually guarantee it from a renewable source such as wind,
wave or water power
Renewable Energies include:
Wind Power; Solar Power; Wave Power; Geothermal; Wood Burning
You could have one of these types of power generators directly heating/giving
energy to your home.

Changing Your Electricity Supplier, or Tariff.
However, if that doesn’t appeal, there are at least 12 electricity supply
companies out there, all willing to supply you with electricity, made in a
renewable way.
Only four of these are recommended by Green Electricity Market Place as
entirely from renewable sources. (http://www.greenelectricity.org/tariffs.php)
There are two types of tariffs that you can sign up for:
Green Supply –where the electricity company ensures that for every unit of
electricity you use, a set proportion of green electricity is generated.
Green Fund – where the electricity company invests some of what you pay
on your bill in new renewable energy projects.
